Established in 1968, Jester Associates Inc. has been a leading manufacturer's representative agency in the Mid-Atlantic Area for over five decades.
As an independently owned and family-run business, we have proudly welcomed our third generation into the company in recent years. This legacy allows us to expand with a tradition of innovation and excellence in the commercial door and hardware industry, along with other construction building products.
Every day, our dedicated staff strives to provide unmatched care and service to our customers in the Mid-Atlantic market. Our Sales Team is well-versed in the latest fire, life, and safety codes within the industry. Over our fifty years of operation, we have developed the expertise to create effective access control systems using both mechanical and electrical hardware products.
We also conduct educational classes for architects (CEU), building owners, and dealers to increase their product knowledge and awareness of new solutions arising in the industry.
OUR HISTORY
Jester Associates Inc. was founded in 1968 by John P. Jester Sr., leveraging his extensive experience with a Philadelphia-based hardware distributor and a national hardware manufacturer. Starting out in a small row house in Philadelphia, John and his wife Joanne brought their expertise in hardware and security to schools, hospitals, and industrial clients. The business soon grew, moving from a barn office to a traditional office building in Colmar, Pennsylvania, in the early 1980s.
As the company expanded, it acquired additional sales staff and built a 4,200 square foot warehouse, complete with a hollow metal door and frame business and a UL-approved welding shop. Within ten years, Jester Associates outgrew the Colmar location and relocated to a larger facility in New Britain, Pennsylvania, tripling in size with more office space and warehousing.
In the early 2000s, the company organized into three divisions: Jester Consulting for specifications, Jester Associates for sales, and Jestec Inc. for warehousing. These divisions work together seamlessly to provide top-quality service and support to the Mid-Atlantic's commercial door and hardware industry.
Over the past 50 years, Jester Associates has continually expanded its product offerings, developing a total opening concept that combines sales and technical support. Our warehouse maintains the necessary inventory to ensure efficient turnaround times, with a focus on bringing the latest and most innovative products to our customers.
