Company History

John P. Jester & Assocs. Inc. was founded in 1968 by John P. Jester Sr., AHC, CSI after years of experience with a Philadelphia based contract hardware distributor and a national hardware manufacturer. From a row house in Philadelphia to a small barn-office John and his wife brought his hardware and security knowledge to schools, hospitals and industrial clients. In the eighties the company relocated to an office building in Colmar, Pa. Within two years the company had added salesmen, office staff and had built a 4,200 square foot warehouse. A hollow metal door and frame business was set up along with a full welding shop that was UL approved for fabrication work. In less than ten years the company moved to its current facility in New Britain, Pa. that more than tripled the company size in both office and warehouse space.

In the past twenty years the company has added many product lines to its product offerings, while at the same time developing the total opening concept of sales and technical support. The company maintains inventory to serve the needs of the local market for quick turn orders. The main focus of growth for the company has been to bring new and innovative products to the market through architectural specification writing.

In year 2000, the company was organized into three divisions: the specification department became Jester Consulting, the sales department became Jester Associates and the warehouse became Jestec Inc. Based in the same building the three companies work in unision to service the Tri-State areas door & hardware industry.
